I love engagement sessions…

for several reasons:

1) It’s a great opportunity to get to know my couple better.

2) It’s a chance for the couple to get used to having their picture taken.

3) I love capturing that excitement, anticipation and happiness of the special time before the wedding.

Emily and Stephen are engaged and I’m the lucky gal that gets to photograph their wedding this September. The other weekend I met the couple in Columbia, Missouri for an engagement portrait session. Emily had DIY’ed some cool props for the shoot and we even had her 3 dogs take part in the session–which was entertaining. I love how natural Emily and Stephen were in front of the camera, it’s like they forgot I was even there–though I’m pretty sure they could hear me rustling through the bushes to get the perfect shot. Thanks to Emily & Stephen for being so great and taking all my direction with enthusiasm–even when I made you climb through the “forest”. I look forward to our next photo shoot in September!
