Amy + Elango | Studio 2131 | Kansas City
My big sis got hitched!
This summer my beautiful, smart and talented sister married a truly wonderful man. Elango is awesome and such a great addition to our family. Amy and Elango were married in a traditional Indian ceremony in Chennai, India on August 20th. In October, Amy and Elango hosted a wedding celebration for all of their friends and family here in the states that were unable to make the journey to India. I was honored to photograph the festivities for my sister and my new bro-in-law. Thanks to Kami Van Slyke of Orange Peel Photography who second shot the ceremony and reception with me.
My sister is a graphic designer, hence the super cool invites.
Vintage purse.
This capelet belonged to our mom who wore it to prom with our dad in the 1960′s.
Amazing bouquet by Bloom 47. Hair and make up by CaraSue Hall, professional makeup artist and hair stylist.
Guest book table with photos from their wedding in India.
Amy D-I-Y’ed this aisle runner, a giant roll of paper that she hand-painted.
Amy painted the lyrics (with a little poetic license) to Willie Wonka’s “I’ve Got A Golden Ticket” on the runner.
Our niece, Claire.
Our niece, Megan.
Our brother-in-law, Jeff, “officiated”.
I love that I caught this one of Amy giving me a quick wink
Tearing up during her vows.
I love this one of Clarie watching her new uncle say his vows.
With my sisters and mom (that’s me on the far right).
The whole fam.
Amy D-I-Y’ed these paper rosettes and pom poms, too!
Dolce Baking Company; if loving you is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
Oh yeah, did I mention that Amy and Elango met through salsa dancing?
Her signature move.
E and his best good buddies.
Sister #selfie. Hilarious.
Congratulations you two! I love you both heaps and heaps!
Eric + Sarah | Kansas City Engagement Photos | Sidebar: I am obsessed with your dog
First things first…
Let me take a moment to introduce
Bitty, the Bulldog
Who is actually not very “bitty” at all.
Nonetheless, Bitty is adorable in that whole
I-have-an-underbite-and-I-slobber-a-lot-but-I-will-still-melt-your-heart
kind of way.
Bitty belongs to Sarah & Eric, who will be getting married next May.
A few weeks ago I had a chance to hang out with the 3 of them for an engagement shoot.
Our shoot took us from Brookside…
to the Nelson-Atkins Museum…
to Liberty Memorial for some nighttime pics with the Kansas City Skyline in the background, namely Union Station,
which is where Eric asked Sarah to marry him.
These two are adorable. Here are the rest of my favorites from our shoot.
Kansas City Wedding | Jacob’s Well Church | Black on Burlington
Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Stoecker!
I went to high school with Megan and although we attended different colleges we stayed connected through the ultimate uniter–Facebook. As a small business often my main way of spreading the word about L. Frisch Photography is via Facebook. Megan has been a longtime fan of the L. Frisch Photography page and has watched my business develop and grow, so when the day came to start planning her own wedding she reached out to me. I was flattered and honored to be chosen to document this milestone for her and her fiance (now, husband), Eric.
Megan & Eric were wed on July 28, 2012–a beautiful day that included: happy tears, a cast, a vintage car, break dancing and lots of love. A big thank you to my second shooter, Daniel Brenner, who made the trip in from Columbia to photograph the wedding with me. Below is a summary of the wedding day featuring my most favorite photos. Enjoy!
Eric’s house, where all the guys got ready.
Megan’s sister and Maid of Honor, Katie.
Megan was really happy to see her father when he arrived at the church.
I love this one of Megan’s sister watching the happy couple and smiling to herself.
Reception at Black on Burlington.
Megan made a map for the seating chart, various Kansas City landmarks tell you where to sit.
Vintage postcards mark the tables.
Eric’s twin brother and best man, Tim.
Her dad wanted to keep his cast out of the photos, but I just think this one of them together is too sweet to not share.
Getting ‘psyched for the bouquet toss.
It looks like they’re arguing, but they’re actually just “dougie-ing”
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Stoecker! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your big day!
Lee’s Summit Wedding | Holy Spirit Catholic Church | Emaline Ballroom
Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Cecil…
Friday weddings are always fun because, as one of my brides put it: “Then you have the whole weekend to celebrate!”. Truth. Friday, July 27th brought me to Lee’s Summit, Missouri to photograph Bryon & Shauna’s wedding day. A big thanks to Melissa Sigler who joined me from Lawrence, KS to second shoot.

Shauna’s sister, the Matron of Honor.
Shauna’s niece looks on while her aunt gets into her bridal gown.
Again with the jokester in the back
I love to catch the groom’s face when he see’s his bride for the first time.
Bryon’s Mom giving him a congratulatory high-five.
I ran out to find them after the ceremony and caught them being all sweet with each other in a nearby room.
Look! Shauna’s baby nephew is waving!
Shauna’s Dad giving his sweet toast.
Shauna’s sister teared up during her toast and so did Shauna.
Such concentration on Bryon’s face during the garter toss.
Then the epic dance party began.
One of my top favorites from the whole day….here Shauna’s mom busts a move with her grandson. Love this photo.
Annnd….this is what happens when you play “MMMBop” at a wedding reception
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Cecil! Thank you for letting me be a part of your big day.
