I first photographed Kelley and Tyler on their wedding day back in Oct. 2009. Last Summer I photographed their newborn baby girl, Caroline. Fast forward to this year and little Caroline is about to turn 1 which means it was time for some updated family photos and a celebratory cake smash, of course.

Meet Lucas.

I traveled to Columbia, Missouri last week to photograph this little man, who at the time of these photos was just one week old. Lucas’ parents have given him an adorable nursery full of soft blues, greens and lots of natural light. It was so much fun to photograph little Lucas, below are my favorites. I can’t wait to see how much he’s grown when I see him again at his 6-month portrait session.

Meet Bridgette & Ryan.

These two will celebrate their wedding day April 2013, but first things first–time for an engagement session! We started our photo shoot at Kauffman Memorial Gardens, the sun was setting and the light was just PERFECT! Bridgette had gotten crafty and made some great save-the-date props out of cardboard numbers and lace. With a little MacGyver-y and help from Ryan I got the numbers to stand upright on their own, and with the sun coming through the trees it made for some cool photos. Before the sun had completely set we headed downtown to get some photos with the Kansas City skyline as our backdrop. I set up my remote light and we made the bridge our own little studio. You can see their wedding/reception site in the skyline! Bridgette & Ryan: I had so much fun with you two. Thanks for being up for all of my “crazy” ideas.  I can’t wait to take more beautiful photos for you two on 4.27.13!

Love that chunky baby stage.

All babies are cute, but I think the most irresistibly cute period of their development is that time when they develop the chunk. Little baby Cove is going through his “chunk phase” and he is ADORABLE! I traveled to Columbia, MO a few weeks ago to photograph Cove and his parents–below are images from our session that started in Cove’s room and ended at Twin Lakes Recreation Area during sunset.

Plus baby makes 3…

As a photographer one of the most rewarding parts of my job is when I develop a relationship with my clients that continues beyond the wedding day. Mike and Niki are no stranger to me and my camera, over the past couple of years they’ve entrusted me with photographing their engagement photos and wedding day. Now Mike and Niki are starting a new chapter of their lives with an addition to their family, a sweet baby girl. Meet Emma, the strawberry blonde cutie who did oh so well during her first photo shoot at just 14 days old.

Meet my new friend Kristin…

Kristin is more than just a pretty face folks, she’s also a talented photographer. We met up for the first time a couple of weeks ago to turn our cameras on one another for some new business portraits. What a hilarious adventure it was to be on the other side of the lens–taking the direction that we often give our clients. Meet Joel & Katy…

& Arlo, the pug.

Joel and Katy are engaged and I’m the lucky gal that gets to photograph their wedding this fall in Columbia, Missouri.

The two needed some formal engagement photos for the newspaper and also wanted some photos of their beloved pug, Arlo, so they booked one of my Winter Mini-Sessions (that I hosted at the L. Frisch Photography studio back in February). I thoroughly enjoyed photographing their little family and I’m happy that I got a chance to meet Arlo (since I’m not sure he’s invited to the wedding). I look forward to this October and the opportunity to photograph Joel and Katy’s big day, can’t wait!

February’s mini-session promo had a lot of proud pet parents bringing their pups to the studio. First up, here are my favorites from pugs Phyllo & Brutus’ portrait session at my Kansas City studio.

Here is Chewie, a llapso-mix with an adorable under-bite. His mom brought along a frog outfit and a toy soldier outfit for him to wear during the shoot.
